Mediterranean Expands with               Relocation to Oak Bluffs

Grand Opening on April 10th for Martha’s Vineyard’s Only Mediterranean-Inspired Cuisine; Job Fair Taking Place in May

March 16, 2009 – Martha’s Vineyard, MA – One of Martha’s Vineyard’s top destinations for fine dining and fresh cuisine, The Mediterranean, is pleased to announce today the relocation of its restaurant to 15 Island Inn Road, Oak Bluffs. Opening April 10, 2009, the new property more than doubles the Restaurant’s current capacity, easily accommodating over 200 guests and offering expanded outdoor seating, live entertainment and dancing, ample parking, full-service catering and charming banquet facilities.
Complete with a redesigned décor that takes its influences from both local and international sources, the Mediterranean is continuing its tradition of delivering the finest in authentic Mediterranean cuisine and professional service. The menu is inspired by the culinary delights and regional traditions from Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Turkey and Morocco, and is the passion of the Co-Owner and Executive Chef, Douglas Hewson, and his wife, Co-Owner, General Manager and Pastry Chef, Leslie Hewson. Their approach is simple: the freshest of ingredients, native fish and produce, and innovative preparation to deliver an unsurpassed, authentically Mediterranean experience.
“We are extremely excited about relocating to Oak Bluffs to accommodate our business expansion,” said Douglas Hewson. “We remain grateful to our loyal customers and guests who have made this opportunity possible, and promise to continue delivering the same level of culinary excellence they’ve come to expect from a visit to the Mediterranean Restaurant.”
The new location in Oak Bluffs was formerly the home of Lola’s Southern Seafood.
“After 15 years in operation, Lola’s was a staple on Martha’s Vineyard. We look forward to continuing the commitment to the local community that owners, Kathy and Paul Domitrovich, worked hard to establish,” continued Douglas.
In addition to serving its traditional menus, the Mediterranean will now offer a unique wine list, a full service bar and tapas menu, and late night dining. Starting April 10th, the restaurant and bar will be open for dinner 5 nights per week, Thursday – Monday, from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm and will include weekend brunch options. Expanded hours of operation will also be announced closer to Memorial Day.
