The Mediterranean Restaurant was founded in 2004 by Douglas & Leslie Hewson.

After many years of service to the finest culinary establishments in the Boston area, the Hewsons relocated to Martha's Vineyard to raise their daughters and create the most unique and satisfying dining experience on the island.

The Mediterranean has become a favorite for locals and visitors alike. It is well known for its extraordinary food, service and views providing the ideal venue for a family dinner, special occasion or a romantic evening. The authentic and innovative cuisine takes its influence from their family's heritage along the vast expanse of the Mediterranean Sea - incorporating culture, flavors, preparations and culinary inspiration from France, Greece, Italy, Morocco, Spain and Turkey - all prepared in an innovative manner with fresh, native ingredients.
